Arc Flash
|
According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), an arc flash
is “a dangerous condition associated with the release of energy caused by an
electric arc.” An arc flash produces enormous amounts of energy exploding outward
creating pressure waves, a high intensity flash, and a ball of superheated gas.
This results in a hazardous and potentially life threatening environment for employees.
